NNADAP Prevention Activities

NNADAP Prevention activities are intended to provide culturally appropriate programs to educate and promote addictions awareness and addiction-free lifestyles.

Some of the main activities undertaken by NNADAP Prevention to address these objectives include:

  • Hosting the National Addictions Awareness Week in November
  • Conducting coffee houses for the community
  • Engaging additional resource persons in the community as well as partnering with these same resources to bring in resource speakers from outside the community to speak on a host of addiction free lifestyle topics
  • Conducting educational sessions in the local school in a workshop format for the small host of local social service agencies. These groups include men, women, and youth support groups as well as a sobriety support group
  • Various mini-workshops and conferences to create awareness of substance abuse
  • Conducting weekly home visits and follow-up sessions with clients who have recently returned from their treatment programs
  • Supporting a number of addiction-free self-help groups
