Nelson House Medicine Lodge is Hiring One (1) Casual Relief / Weekend Cook

Salary: $12-14 / hour pending qualifications and experience
The Casual Cook will assist the Head Cook and Assistant Cook with the effective operation of the kitchen to assure efficiency of the operations, nutritional adequacy and acceptability of dietetic service to clients. The primary duties of the Casual Cook are to assist the Cooks in the preparation, cooking and service of the nutritious menus; and to
cover additional shifts when Head Cook or Assistant Cook are away.
Knowledge, Abilities and skills:
- Ability to take direction and use the knowledge acquired from dietician/nutritionist and Head Cook in the food preparation, cooking and services
Education and Experience required:
- Must have a valid Safe Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent.
- People selected for this position must be an abstainer of alcohol, cannabis & illegal drug use for at least 4 months. An understanding and respect for the Aboriginal culture & the ability to speak the Cree language is an asset.
