POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nelson House Medicine Lodge Inc. is seeking applicants to fill two (2) board appointments, each running from three – five years. The NHML Board of Directors is a policy driven entity which has two significant functions; the development/oversight of policies and procedures for the agency and secondly, provide direction to the Executive Director. Additional roles expected of board members may include active involvement in the NHML’s multi-year Accreditation Process as well as participating/attending NHML graduation and traditional ceremonial events.
Candidates for this position must be knowledgeable of the Treatment Centre’s processes, service delivery, confidentiality, conflict resolution, funding advocacy. Must role model a healthy lifestyle and be willing and able to share their knowledge, skills and expertise to benefit the organization. These positions come with modest honoraria and will entail occasional travel.
The Nelson House Medicine Lodge Board is part of the NCN Governance Model.
